About Me

Yaranil Ferrer, LCSW, PMH-C

Welcome! I’m Yaranil, a latina therapist in NJ specializing in perinatal mental health. My own experience as a new mom has helped me really lean into the work I do. I understand that being a mom is incredibly beautiful and rewarding but it can also be challenging—and both things can be true.

I have worked in many settings throughout my career including hospice, homecare, in-home therapy, supervisory roles, and community mental health. My professional experience has helped me gain a unique perspective on people and ultimately find my passion for working with women struggling in postpartum. I have specialized training in working with perinatal women and utilize cognitive behavior therapy as well as mindfulness strategies and EMDR in my work.

Seeing the change from day one—a mom coming to see me, feeling overwhelmed, lost, and ashamed, and then watching her thrive and feel empowered in her life, is the most rewarding part of my job. Everyone’s story is unique, and I am honored to be a part of my clients' journeys toward healing and growth.

Outside of work, I value and prioritize time with my family, I enjoy a good audiobook, ( it's how I fit reading into my life nowadays), love learning and I enjoy cooking (even though I am not great at it). I also value the time that I have to myself, whether its enjoying a solo car ride or being the first one to wake up in the morning. Trying to find moments of peace and being intentional with that time is very important to me.
