Therapy for New and Expecting Moms

You’ve been doubting yourself, struggling with guilt and feeling alone. What if I told you that feeling confident and empowered in your motherhood journey was possible?

Feelings of shame often hold you back from seeking support. When you do seek support it can be difficult for loved ones to understand your needs. Your response is to isolate and not ask for help in an effort to avoid the cycle of guilt and shame. All too often people tend to the baby, but you’re going through one of the biggest transitions of your life all while caring for and prioritizing the needs of your baby. So, who takes care of you?

Moms need care and support too and a big part of the work I do focuses on normalizing this need to help ease the feelings of guilt and shame. I help moms quiet the noise so that they can identify and tend to their needs. Some common issues I support moms with are: postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression, perfectionism, guilt, shame, relationship issues, returning to work, and many other.

Services

  • Individual Therapy

Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes in length. During that time we will work on relevant issues, including things that you have identified as problem areas as well as things that I might identify as being worthy of exploring, but we will never discuss anything you are not ready to talk about.

  • Group Therapy

Group therapy is often preferred by pregnant and postpartum women as it fosters a sense of community. Often women struggle with feelings of shame as they suffer in silence and group therapy helps normalize and destigmatize. Group sessions are typically 60 minutes in length and are open to women who are 0-12 months postpartum.
